“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver course. Building upon what you’ve already learned, this course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur.

Why Rescue Diver?
While uncommon, emergencies in scuba diving do occasionally occur. The PADI Rescue Diver course trains you to anticipate and respond to a variety of diving-related emergency scenarios. By shifting the focus from your own personal safety to the general well-being of everyone in the water, you will gain greater confidence in your own diving abilities while developing the mindset necessary to take your first steps towards becoming a PADI Divemaster.

What You Learn
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. Knowledge development sessions are followed by confined water skill training, where you will cover:

Self Rescue Review
Tired diver
Panicked diver
Response from shore, dock or boat (responsive diver)
Distressed diver underwater
Missing diver
Surfacing the unresponsive diver
Unresponsive diver at the surface
Exiting the unresponsive diver
First aid for pressure related injuries and oxygen administration
Response from shore or boat, unresponsive diver
Unresponsive diver on the surface

The Scuba Gear You Use
You use all your basic scuba gear including a pocket mask.

The Learning Materials You Need
The PADI Rescue Diver crew pack includes all materials required to complete the PADI Rescue Diver course or you can choose the online PADI Rescue Diver Course. You’ll learn how to think like a rescue diver and preview skills you’ll practice with your PADI Instructor. This tool box of knowledge and technique will give you the expertise to handle almost any emergency situation.

This product is included with the price of the course unless you choose the online course.

Prerequisites

To enroll in the PADI Rescue Diver course, you must

Be 12 years or older
Have a PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization)
Be trained and current with CPR and first aid within the previous two years (Ask us about our Emergency First Responder CPR and first aid course).

Price: $250 includes home study materials and other training materials, pool and open water training, certification card, student discounts/specials

$130 for eLearning students plus emergency slate. ($120 will be paid online to PADI) PADI Rescue Course Online

Package this course with Emergency First Responder and/or Emergency Oxygen Provider for a discount.

                        There is a big rescue class scheduled in Sept. eLearning is required for this class. Pool session will be Sunday
                    Sept. 11 meeting at store at 11a. eLearning must be completed by this time. Lake session will be at Clear
                    Springs Scuba Park on Sat 24th - Sun 25th.

Your Next Adventure
Before, after, or along with Emergency First Responder and the PADI Rescue Diver course, you should take the Emergency Oxygen Provider course. Together, these three courses round out your ability to handle scuba diver emergencies. Also, if you have 5 PADI specialty certifications, you qualify for Master Scuba Diver.
