Safety and diving go hand in hand and the best way to keep your buddy safe is to prepare for anything. The Rescue Diver course teaches you a “buddy focused” mindset and gives you the skills to react in every situation, big or small. Your buddy is the most important piece of equipment you take with you on a dive. They are depending on you!...and frankly, you’re depending on them too, so this course is best taken with a friend.
Your Rescue Diver journey begins online with the Rescue Diver eLearning course. Get comfortable with the knowledge at your own pace and complete all the modules before your orientation night. Current CPR and First Aid training is a prerequisite to the Rescue Diver course, so your next step is the DAN CPR & First Aid training ($75) on Thursday night (6 pm - 9 pm). We highly recommend adding the DAN Oxygen Provider course ($75) and it can be combined with CPR & First Aid class on Thursday night. Friday is orientation (6 pm - 9 pm) to review your online course and discuss your emergency action plan. Now the real fun begins… Two days of open water dives promise to be the best weekend you’ve ever spent at the lake. You’ll learn everything from towing tired divers at the surface to assisting unresponsive divers underwater. Skills practice is intermixed with challenging scenarios to test your reflexes and make your training more relevant to real-world situations. The course tuition of $319 includes all of your training, academic materials (PADI Rescue Diver eLearning course), and certification processing fees. Students must provide their own personal gear as well as a rescue pocket mask (available in store). If needed, rental for BCD, regulator, wetsuit, weights, and tank is $75 for the weekend. We run one Rescue class per month, starting on the second Thursday, from May through October, so come visit our store or call to sign up and get started on your class today!.
